New Single Coming Soon!
Next month, I am excited to say that I will be the cover story for The Phoenix, the official magazine of the United Ostomy Association of America. The article was written by a dear, new friend and fellow ostomate Emily York in San Diego, CA and to complement the article, I will be releasing a brand new single “No Guarantee” to be available for free download RIGHT HERE. I’m incredibly excited about it! Special thanks goes to Micky New, Ryan Alford, Jacob Haqq-Misra, and Marc Frigo of Frigo Recording in Boalsburg, PA for their essential roles in the project.

Hi Gina
I have had a urostomy for 5 years, and I read about you in the Phoenix magazine. I wish you the best for the future, and that your new procedures will be of great benifit to you. I have played guitar for over 60 years and I have a question for you. The guitar or whatever instrument you are playing on page 43 of the Phoenix magazine has 8 strings which is something I haven’t seen before. Just curious. The best to you, and Merry Christmas
Regards,
Lloyd
PS I enjoyed your song on this website.

Hi Lloyd! The instrument you are referring to is a mandolin. The strings are tuned in fifths – G-D-A-E. The reason there are 8 strings is because each tone is doubled, but they are the same note rather than in octaves like a 12 string guitar. I’m teaching myself to play it and right now can mostly do chords. The mandolin lead line played in No Guarantee was done by my friend Ryan, but someday I hope to be able to play well enough to be on recordings.

Hi Gina, love your song “No Guarantee”. I also have an ileostomy (30 years now) and have had no problems with it. I hope you are living a new life and are now able to enjoy it!! Good for you — keep up the good work.
