Science communication is one of my passions. My science communication goals are to convey in writing how the process of science works to foster appreciation and curiosity among the public. Sciworthy’s mission is to reach members of the public who typically do not trust the conclusions of science, to understand where they are coming from, and what they enjoy reading. As of 2018, Sciworthy has 9 regular contributors, numerous interns and guest contributors, and three support staff members.
We cover any recently published paper that is at most 2 years old, with some exceptions. Sciworthy approaches science communication from both the reader and the scientist sides. We give the public an honest, objective, behind the scenes look at what scientists actually do. Additionally, we teach scientists through our writer training what the public really wants to know.
